Terms and Privacy
1. Terms of use
These terms cover Manatee ("Manatee", "we", "us"). By using this site or joining the waitlist you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Manatee is a professional network that works over email. We ask what you are working on, look for relevant people in the background, and email you when we think there is someone worth meeting.
Acceptable use
- Give accurate information about yourself, and do not impersonate anyone.
- Do not use Manatee to send spam, recruit at scale, or sell to our members.
- Do not scrape, probe, or attempt to disrupt the service.
- Treat what you learn about other members as private. Do not pass their details on without their agreement.
Service as-is
Manatee is early and evolving. We provide the site and the service as-is, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that introductions will happen, that they will be useful, or that the service will be uninterrupted. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Manatee, or from any introduction we make or do not make.
We may change these terms. If a change is significant we will email waitlist members and update the date at the top of this page.
2. The waitlist
Joining the waitlist is a request for access, not a guarantee of it. We admit people in batches so we can keep match quality high. We may decline or remove anyone at our discretion, and we may change or close the waitlist at any time.
There is no charge to join the waitlist.
3. Information we collect
When you join the waitlist we collect what you enter in the form:
- Your first and last name, and your email address.
- Your country, and your city if you choose to give it.
- Your role and focus areas.
- One line on what you are working on.
- Who you want to meet, and what you can help others with.
- A LinkedIn or website link, if you choose to give one.
- Anything you add to the optional notes field.
- Whether you opted in to updates and event invitations, and the date and time you submitted the form.
If you use the Manatee demo conversation on our home page, the messages you type are sent to our AI provider to generate a reply. Do not put confidential information into the demo.
4. How we use it
- To manage the waitlist and decide when to offer you access.
- To understand who is joining, so we can find relevant people to introduce you to.
- To email you about your place on the waitlist and your account.
- To send you updates and invitations to events, if you opted in. See section 5.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal basis is your consent for marketing and event emails, and our legitimate interest in operating and improving Manatee for everything else. Service emails about your waitlist place are not marketing and are sent on the basis of your request to join.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not run ads.
5. Events and marketing
When you join the waitlist, the box for updates and event invitations is ticked by default. You can untick it before you submit, and you can unsubscribe at any time afterwards.
If you leave it ticked, you are agreeing that we may contact you to:
- Invite you to in-person events, dinners, meetups, and gatherings, including ones near the city or country you gave us.
- Invite you to online events, briefings, and community sessions.
- Share product updates, launches, and news about Manatee.
- Share occasional research, writing, or offers we think are relevant to you.
- Ask for your feedback, or ask whether you would like to take part in interviews or early tests.
We may contact you by email, and by phone or messaging app if you have given us those details. We use your country and city only to work out which events are near you.
If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the box is not ticked by default. You have to tick it yourself for us to send you marketing.
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops marketing and event emails. It does not remove you from the waitlist, and you will still get service emails about your place in line. To leave the waitlist entirely, see section 8.
6. Who we share it with
We share your information with service providers who help us run Manatee, and only so they can do that work:
- Our database and hosting providers, which store waitlist entries.
- Our email provider, which sends the emails described above.
- Our AI provider, which processes messages you send in the demo conversation and helps us find relevant matches.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of our members.
Our providers may process your information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal data out of the EEA or the UK we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
We never share your details with another member as part of an introduction without telling you first.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist entry until you ask us to delete it, or until we close the waitlist and decide not to offer you access. If you become a member, your information moves into your account and is kept for as long as the account is open.
If you unsubscribe from marketing, we keep a record of that choice so we do not email you again by mistake.
8. Your choices and rights
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete your information and remove you from the waitlist.
- Withdraw your consent to marketing and event emails at any time.
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information.
Email us at radishlabsai@gmail.com and we will handle it. There is no charge, and we aim to reply within 30 days.
If you are in the EEA or the UK and are not happy with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
